Women Experience Sexual Frustration, Too

As we enter into the twenty-first century, gender norms and attitudes towards how men and women should behave are changing for the better. In most cases we’ve done away with rigid stereotypes that dictate how a man or a woman should behave. We’ve learned to see masculinity and femininity as fluid characteristics, that don’t necessarily correspond to gender. In the same vein of thinking, sexual frustration is no longer something that only affects men. Women are now free to express their sexual needs in order to prevent feelings of sexual frustration.

Throughout history, women have been taught to stifle their sense of sexuality in order to appear respectable, pure, and desirable in a man’s eyes. For women this meant resisting sex when it was offered and never expressing an outright desire to have sex. It was considered unthinkable that a woman would experience sexual frustration, because sex was always centered around the male. Men had ‘uncontrollable’ sexual urges and it was a woman’s fault if she tempted a man into action. Today, there is still something of a misconception that men have greater libidos and sex drives as compared to women.

Your sex drive is affected by a number of factors. Firstly, there are hormones circulating in your body that determine how you feel, sexually. For women, hormone levels fluctuate along with the menstrual cycle. Therefore, how amorous a woman feels at any given time depends on where she is in her cycle.

Of course, there are other factors that can greatly affect libido, especially for women. Emotionally traumatic events, such as the death of someone close to you, a particularly nasty breakup, or stress at work can all have serve to dampen or light your sense of sexual desire. In addition, mood disorders such as depression or bipolar disorder can also cause both increases and decreases in libido. Another fairly obvious factor in determining libido or sexual desire is how connected the woman feels to the person she is sexual with. There are a great number of things that can affect a woman’s desire for sex.

Sexual frustration can occur in conjunction with any of the aforementioned lifestyle changes. The change might be totally obvious, or it might be difficult to recognize why you feel the way you do. It might be difficult to communicate the change to your partner, if you have a certain routine. Perhaps you want sex more and your partner isn’t interested in increasing frequency. If that’s the case, you’re likely to experience some sexual frustration.

If that is the case the best thing to do is discuss how you feel with your partner. We are lucky to live in an era where it is okay

for women to express their sexual needs. Sexual frustration can be addressed through honest discussions that don’t center on rigid gender roles, such as what a woman should feel or what a man should feel. Being honest and open is the best way to address a problem if you have one. If you want to feel sexually satisfied, the best thing to do is have a conversation about your needs.

In addition to communication with your partner, energy healing methods such as Chakra Healing can dramatically improve your sex life by getting to the root of the issue and eliminating the cause of the problem.

Chakracises

Actions to help get your chakras functioning optimally

The crown chakra is associated with the color violet or white. This chakra, when functioning optimally, allows inner communications with our spiritual nature to flow naturally. When the crown chakra is open, it invites energies from the Universal Life Force. From there, the invited energies can be dispersed proportionally downward into the lower six chakras housed below it. This chakra is often depicted as a lotus flower with its petals open to represent spiritual awakening. I view the crown chakra as a bottomless well from which intuitive knowledge can be drawn.

Indicators that the crown chakra is not functioning optimally:Stuck in the past, Faithlessness, Feeling of disconnect from the world in general

Chakracises: Prayer, Meditation

The brow chakra (aka the third eye) is associated with the color indigo. Our mental calculations and thinking processes are functions of this chakra. Our ability to distinguish reality from fantasy or delusion is connected to the healthfulness of this chakra.

Indicators that the brow chakra is not functioning optimally: Lofty thinking, Paranoia, Poor judgement, False sense of reality

Chakracises: Visualization, Remote Viewing, Lucid Dreaming

The throat chakra is associated with the color sky-blue. The healthfulness of this chakra is signified by how openly and honestly a person expresses himself or herself. A challenge to the throat chakra is to express ourselves in the most truthful manner. Falsehoods and half-truths energetically pollute the throat chakra. Repressing our anger or displeasure by ignoring our feelings through evasive sweet talk, or silence, will manifest into throat imbalances such as strep throat, laryngitis, speech impediments, and so on.

Indicators that the throat chakra is not functioning optimally:Dishonesty, Overt wariness of outside influences, Speaking vulgarities, Biting your tongue (figuratively speaking)

Chakracises: Gargling with salt water, Singing, Screaming

The heart chakra is associated with the color green. This chakra is considered to be the love center of our human energy system. Among others, love, heartbreak, grief, pain, and fear, are all emotions that are felt intensely within this energy vortex. Learning self-love is a powerful initiative to undertake in order to secure and maintain a healthy heart chakra.

Indicators that the heart chakra is not functioning optimally:Trust issues, Lack of confidence, Depression, Heartbreak

Chakracises: Push Ups, Swimming (breast stroke), Hugging Yourself

The solar plexus chakra is associated with the color yellow. Our egos and intuitions reside in this space. Our personal self-esteem is reflected by the healthfulness or lack of healthfulness of this chakra. Experiencing difficulty maintaining your personal power likely signifies that your third chakra is damaged or compromised. This intuitive chakra is also the source from which we get those “gut feelings” that signal us to take action or to avoid something. When this chakra is functioning optimally our intuitive skills are enhanced.

Indicators that the solar plexus chakra is not functioning optimally: Feeling overwhelmed or crowded, ultra-sensitivity, fearful of life in general

Chakracises: Belly dancing, Doing the Twist, Hoola Hooping

chakracise hoola hoop

The sacral chakra is associated with the colors orange and red-orange. This chakra often offers us the opportunity to acknowledge our issues regarding control, especially in relationship with others. A well-functioning second chakra helps a person maintain a healthy yin-yang existence. Although the sacral chakras is primarily considered the sexual center, it is also where individual creativity is birthed from. If you are seeking motivation for a project, focus on charging up this chakra, it will give launch to your ideas.

Indicators that the sacral chakra is not functioning optimally:sexual dysfunction, blocked creativity, feeling of powerlessness

Chakracises: Circular pelvis movements, Pelvic thrusts

The root chakra is associated with the color red. This chakra is the grounding force that allows us to connect to grounding energies and empowers our life force. It is through this chakra that the child feels a strong connection with its birth mother and also bonding with its nuclear family. Our survival instincts spring forth through this vortex.

Indicators that the root chakra is not functioning optimally:confusion, distraction, aloofness

Chakracises: Stomping your feet, Marching, Squats

Our auras are like magnets picking up vibrational energies that are floating around everywhere we go. It is important to cleanse our auras freeing them of foreign vibrations and negative energies.

Indicators that your aura needs cleansing: fatigue, shallow breathing, irritation or agitation, feeling cornered or boxed in.

Chakracises: Shower, soak in epsom salt bath, smudge with sage wand, deep cleansing breaths.

Chakra Exercises

Imbalance in The Sacral or Sex Chakra

Svadhaswara is the seat of sexual desire, pleasure and nurturing. The sacred art of tantra is a sexual art intended to use the energy created during orgasm to propel Kundalini energy up the spine to inspire instant bliss and enlightenment. This practice remains highly misunderstood, and has been used in a number of books and myths to be more about sexual pleasure than spirituality; none-the-less, the ability to give and receive sexual pleasure, or pleasure in general, does have its home in the sacral chakra.

What is so important about being able to experience pleasure and give it to others? Well, for one, it is an act of openness and self-affirmation. For another thing, it is extremely conducive to caring and intimacy. Just think what it would be like to have a partner who never experienced pleasure or allowed you to pleasure them. This would create a huge barrier and imbalance in any relationship.

Unfortunately, this problem is all too common. It stems from a closed sacral, or second chakra, and it can be healed through continued intimacy, counseling, meditation and yoga. Often, this is caused by sexual shame, too much guilt, and a number of unhealthy or unacceptable experiences, during youth or at other times in life.

What if, on the other hand, your partner is detached, selfish, overly intense, manipulative, or, becomes too attached and dependent, and only shows affection in a sexual manner? This is a sign of excess in the sacral chakra, and is just as much an imbalance and barrier to love and nurturing. In both cases, meditations and exercises can bring more balance and harmony to the individual and the relationship, helping us learn how to set normal sexual boundaries, allow our own gratification, and care for others, at the same time.

Boundaries are, as matter of fact, a perfect example of what the sacral chakra is really all about. Our natural boundaries are not meant to be emotional blockades or walls barring us from trust and communion with others. Rather, they are a symbol of emotional well-being, self-love and respect for ourselves and others. When the sacral chakra is blocked or imbalanced, however, we either lack the ability to tell others no, or we overuse the ability to a point of loneliness and isolation.

Those who have a problem in the svadhisthana center commonly act as martyrs; over-giving, denying themselves certain foods, sexual gratification, even compliments and love from others. They can also be very promiscuous and pass over true emotional attachment and connection for the more shallow or temporary satisfaction of sex. They may have many partners, and certainly experience a high number of fast and tumultuous relationships.

The favored color of this energy center is orange and simply working more with it and incorporating it into everyday items or surroundings is an excellent strategy for beginning to heal and balance it. Those who have such issues tend to be fond of the color, or, at least some shades of it. There is no reason to use bright orange, as more muted, electric, or darker shades work just as well.

The seed mantra for svadhisthana is vam and can be chanted or sung during focus on the sex center, during meditation, while holding a hand mudra, or while practicing one of the following Yoga postures:

Triangle: Stand with the legs wider than hip width apart, facing the hips forward and holding the arms straight out to the sides. Draw the muscles of the legs up, bend at the hip to the right, letting the right hand come down on the knee, shin or floor, depending on flexibility. Hold the pose and breath deeply into the stretch in the inner thighs. Chant vam and focus on the sacral chakra. Straighten and then repeat to the left.

Cobra: Lay on the floor with the hands under the shoulders. Straighten the legs out behind you, feet together. Rest the chin on the mat or floor. Using primarily the muscles in the back, lift the head, neck, shoulders and chest off of the floor, using the hands for support only. Keep the pelvis, hips, lower abdomen and legs pressed into the floor. Hold for ten deep breaths, release, rest and repeat.

Lesson Six ~ General Information

What happens during a Reiki session? A Reiki treatment is non-diagnostic, non-interventionist, non-manipulative and no pressure is applied. A session is usually carried out with the recipient lying down, or sitting, in a comfortable and peaceful environment. There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki energy passes easily through all materials, including plaster casts.

The practitioner places their hands gently on or over the body. The recipient automatically draws in only as much energy as is needed, using it in whatever way is most appropriate at the time. Reiki may be experienced as a flow of energy, mild tingling, warmth, coolness, other sensations, or nothing at all. Reiki is deeply relaxing and has a profound calming effect. It is a good idea to rest for a while afterwards and drink plenty of water over the next few days. Be responsive to your bodies needs e.g. resting if tired and allowing the energy to continue its work in the days following the session. The beneficial effects may be felt for several days.

What are the benefits? Illness can be a time of great stress. Reiki can help us cope by encouraging relaxation and bringing balance to both mind and emotions. Benefits include deep relaxation promoting a calm, peaceful sense of well-being; on all levels. Reiki encourages and supports positive personal choices such as improving diet, taking more exercise, devoting time for rest or leisure activities and may reduce the need for alcohol and tobacco. Engendering greater inner harmony and balance, regular Reiki treatments promote a calmer response to life’s challenges. Reiki’s gentle energy is easily adapted to most medical conditions and may be used safely by people of all ages, including the newborn, pregnant mothers, surgical patients, the frail and the elderly, in any situation. Being complementary, Reiki works effectively alongside orthodox healthcare and natural remedies, expanding treatment options.

Reiki affects the Chakras, the Meridians the Aura & all three bodies, Mental, Emotional & Physical. Reiki can enhance everyday living and regular sessions may help to promote development of a healthier, more resourceful state of being.

Effects of Reiki

Reiki most often feels like a warmth coming from the healer’s hands and it promotes relaxation, restoring calm to the body and the mind. Reiki works for the highest good and can never do any harm. It works whether you believe it or not.

It releases blocks caused by negative thoughts and enhances the body’s ability to heal itself. It relieves pain, reduces stress and clears the build up of toxins in the body. It treats the symptoms and the causes of illness. Reiki can be used for the benefit of adults, children, animals, plants, even situations in the present and the past can be helped by sending distant healing.

Lesson Five Subtle Energy ~ Chakras

The next 2 lessons will cover the 3 important elements affected by Reiki healing: Chakras, The Aura and The Meridians.

So what are Chakras? This is truly the subject of an entire course all its own yet it is important that a Reiki healer at least have a basic understanding of what they are & how they work. Chakras are the ‘sacred’ energy centers within that carry us on our journey toward greater awareness & aliveness. As such, they are at the center of our spiritual & physical evolution. As the architecture of the soul, they provide an important map for our wholeness and transformation, both personally and globally. As an ancient spiritual system, they show the path to enlightenment & continued health of the human organism & its consciousness.

The word chakra is Sanskrit for wheel or disk and signifies one of seven basic energy centers in the body that correspond to nerve ganglia branching out from the spinal column. A brief history behind Chakras shows us that they first appeared in ancient Hindu texts, featured in tantric and yogic traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism. Each Chakra is associated with its own state of consciousness, developmental stage of life, archetypal element, body function, color, sound & much more. Together they form a profound formula for wholeness and a template for transformation.

These wheels, or disks spin & most of the time are not spinning evenly, if visualized as the color they are associated with you would see darkness in them where they are weak. When you heal a Chakra & remove this darkness the Chakra strengthens & the issues in life that that Chakra deals with heals. The human chakra system was discovered thousands of years ago, and has been confirmed by numerous proven studies like acupuncture, yoga, and Reiki. This amazing aspect of human health represents the raw energy of the human being. I like to think of the chakra system as the fifth level of our being. We are all aware of the physical body, psychological awareness or Mental body & ‘emotional’ mind where the mental and physical actually meet that we call the energetic body, or emotional body, Emotion being energy in motion.

Many people also choose to acknowledge the spiritual realm of life; by this reckoning we now have four aspects of the human form. The chakra system, with its meridians and auric fields, represents the raw energy the flows through the physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual expressions of a human being. It can be thought of as the source power that drives our existence. When certain areas of the chakra system are out of balance, physical disease can manifest in the body. Likewise emotional disorders can occur when other aspects of the human energy system are blocked or out of balance. By correcting imbalances and allowing the healthy flow of energy through the chakra system, so-called incurable diseases can be eliminated; severe emotional problems can be corrected, and so forth. While western medicine has not fully endorsed this concept yet, more doctors are accepting the wonderful reality of the chakra system.

Within the next 50 years it is extremely likely that mainstream medicine will embrace the chakra points system. In fact, the only thing preventing widespread acceptance of chakra healing and chakra wisdom at this time is a politically motivated medical community. Sickness is big business, especially while the pharmaceutical companies maintain their current level of financial influence over medical publications and general practices. But as the human mind continues to evolve and our species moves out of the neo dark age of corruption and self-sabotage, the myriad benefits of our natural energy systems will play an important role.

In addition to advanced healing benefits, knowledge of the chakra system empowers an individual with greater self-knowledge and direct access to the subatomic energy from which all things flow. Science has recently proven the existence of a unified quantum field, or an entangled essential reality at the core of all things; such a truth was spoken of freely thousands of years ago in Vedic and Taoist writings. How ironic, it seems, that we are finding the universal wisdom in teachings made available in ancient times… An exploration of the chakra system requires no specific religious orientation, and no particular spiritual practice. In fact, there is nothing at all mystical or paranormal about the chakra centers and their associated meridians.

One can take a completely scientific approach to the study of his or her own chakra system and base conclusions solely on the outcome of various meditations and exercises. Even the skeptic is likely to be fascinated by the very real and tangible results of such experimentation. I challenge you to empower yourself by exploring the chakra system further, surfing Chakras on the Internet or reading about them from a book.

Chakra Characteristics FIRST CHAKRA – RED Base or Root Chakra: Storage of Kundalini energy resides here: Located at the base of the spine: Associated with Earth, survival, grounding, stillness: Contains the primary 8 cells that have all of the knowledge of creation and remain the only cells in your body that do not change in our lifetime & grounds us in the physical world.

SECOND CHAKRA – ORANGE Called the Sex or Spleen Chakra: Located just beneath the navel, and related to our sexual and reproductive capacity. Blockage manifests as emotional problems or sexual guilt. Also associated with creativity.

THIRD CHAKRA – YELLOW Solar Plexis Chakra: Seat of Emotions: Gives us a sense of personal power & balance in the world. Blockage manifests as anger or a sense of victimization.

FOURTH CHAKRA – GREEN The Heart Chakra: Blockage can manifest as immune system or heart problems, or a lack of compassion. This is the Heart Center – Seat of the Soul in the hourglass of time – The Zero Point

FIFTH CHAKRA – BLUE The powerful Throat Chakra: Tied to creativity and communication. Feels pressure when you are not communicating your emotions properly.

SIXTH CHAKRA – INDIGO The Third Eye, or Pineal Gland: Often connected to the forehead. Is a physical eye at the base of the brain with the capabilities of looking upward. Clairvoyance, psychic abilities, imagination, dreaming. If opened prematurely, psychosis & other mental disorders.

SEVENTH CHAKRA – PURPLE The Chakra Crown: Connects you with messages from higher realms. Can be experienced as a pressure on the top of the head, a spiritual connection, understanding, knowing, bliss & what many understand as ‘God’ a oneness with all things.

Then outside of this, surrounding the human body is the Auric Field, the energy that can be seen with Kirlian Aura Photography.

Lesson Three~Energy

Understanding Energy
All energy starts as consciousness, a self awareness that nearly every religious explanation & every scientific theory believes had to have stemmed from nothing. Nothing being a place where our consciousness drops off a big cliff, it is of course, Unconsciousness, unknowable by its very definition. But then as this awareness, born from nothing, gets focused on one thing over another, energy is created. Concentration creates energy. Where we place our focus becomes our reality. Energy flows where concentration goes… It’s a miracle, like childbirth, only more subtle.

Energy is energy, yet energy has different intents, or natures. We can see this to be true by looking at all the many expression of matter there is in our world. Energy in its most subtle expression is not self aware, it is pure awareness, or Pure Consciousness. From this we can see that matter follows consciousness & believing is seeing, not the other way around: Energy flows where attention goes & this is how Reiki works; you must have concentration & increase your level of awareness of subtle feelings as they move through you. Something we are all capable of. Then when you call Reiki to you with great concentration, you step out of its way & trust that the universal flow of energy in the very universe you reside in is intelligent because its connected to all other things. Many people have a difficult time accepting this because they see only those things which separate us, which explains war; as such many people are not Reiki healers.

So how can something come from nothing? The best way I can explain it is this. Nothing, like everything else has a nature. It holds within it its own eternal & infinite nothingness. By this very nature the potential for everything exists within it, even to become, something. So in this sense it was inevitable that something was bound to come into being, that this vast emptiness holds within it all possibility for all expression of life.

You may ask where does God fit in? The concept or reality of God doesn’t have to fit in for this to make sense, yet it is clear that if there is a God, in whatever way you believe this entity to exist, that he too spawned from the Nothingness, as the very first, thus most powerful consciousness that ever was or ever will be. Most Eastern Religions see things this way. Or you could see that God, Is this very Nothingness that we speak of: Vast & Unknowable.

But we are now approaching ground that is beyond the scope of this course & certainly not necessary for you to be successful Reiki healers. I encourage you to fit all this information, somehow, into your own ideas of Spirituality. I assure you that whatever you believe is right for you so long as it has enough flexibility to include Reiki & is allowed to grow & evolve as you live & learn from life. Your own unique views on life, love & spirituality are a welcome addition to the Reiki community.

We are three part being, this we all know: In our bodies all energy begins as this Pure Consciousness which upon co-mingling with our own experiences or subconscious held thoughts becomes mental energy, now focused on one thing over another, this energy ‘pools’ & often gets amped up by an additional dwelling & concentrating on it while it is waiting to be expressed & released. This is called Emotion or Energy in Motion. This makes up your Emotional or energetic Body. The movement of this is a conscious or semi conscious act we call motion, or the physical expression of energy. Many have come to see that the Physical Body we reside in is really just a collection of these very emotional & mental energies that vibrate so fast that they become a solid, or matter.

So in summation, we are three part beings, & each part has its own make up, or body, we have a physical body, an emotional body & a mental body. Reiki works as we align these three bodies, when our thoughts are aligned with our emotional intent & we place our hands upon another transferring the energy from the Universe, through us & into another.

Let’s examine how this is possible. Nothing, by its very definition is unconsciousness. Yet it is within this very medium that a conscious energy exists & can move freely from one person to another, across great distances, the phone, into the past & future as time exists only as a concept, agreed upon by consensus reality. The only moment that is real is this one right, NOW. Thus the past can be changed & healed by affecting that change now. The future can be altered by applying the right energy to it now. So Reiki works to heal the past, present & future & is not limited by time or space, distance or element. Meaning it works underwater Lol.

But we do know a little about nothing because it is represented as the space between things. We have air, water & even fire sometimes, various elements less dense than solid matter yet allow for the passage of matter through them. We have various gases in the atmosphere that are so subtle they are invisible. Then we have a vast expanse of outer space that proves to us that life on Earth is truly a rare &, therefore in my mind, a special case in the universe. Consider this, a mountain is not known to us because of its mass, rock or ridges, we know where a mountain begins & ends because of the space around it. As Michaelangelo once said, an artist need only visualize what’s inside matter then carve out everything that is not that.
Quantum Physics is the branch of science that has already done studies which have shown many of these ‘spiritual’ concepts to have a real basis in science: That the space between us is not empty at all, just less dense. Also the more empty the space, the more clarity that space contains, as evidenced by it being easier to meditate with your eyes closed or concentrating on a single fixed or flickering object. The emptier the space, the less resistance the space contains, as evidenced by the atmosphere vs. outer space.

If the space between us is not empty then it is only a small matter of belief to see how we are all connected, by energy: Connected, far more intimately than anyone of us previously imagined. We may call this energy anything; I choose to call it Unconditional Love: Unconditional being the word that explains why good things happen to bad people & visa versa. Unconditional is the Karma of energy that everything that comes around, goes around. Karma is simply an explanation for the movement of a connected energy coming back into balance with itself. So a nuclear explosion, a lover crying over a broken heart, a stabbing back pain from over exercising & an orgasm have much more in common then we previously thought!

The reason why I choose to call this love is because this is something that I feel deeply. I know that this love stands on 4 pillars, Humility, Gratitude, Patience & Respect, & these are the very values which allow for everything to be separate, yet co-exist & coalesce. All creation occurs in an act of exchanging energy that all humans call love, or love making. This need not be your name for this Universal Energy; many simply call it the Source. I just wanted to share my own view at this juncture. As I said earlier, it is more important that you formulate your own ‘flexible’ & ever ‘evolving’ belief system then it is to adopt anyone else’s.

Other forms or names of energy, Prana, which is a Hindu-Yoga understanding of the life force in air, it enters us through our lungs & vitalizes all things. It is understood that our ‘spirit’ is connected to the very air we breathe, just try not breathing! Then there is Chi, as understood from Chinese medicine since 2000 BC. Used & effectively applied in Acupuncture & Tai Chi as an energy force that runs through our meridian system, recently accepted by Western Medicine as more subtle, yet as real as our Central Nervous Systems.

Then there’s Kundalini, an energy that runs up the base of the spine through our Chakras. A very powerful expression of emotional energy that has the power to release & clear all blockages, fears & resistances, quite forcefully I might add. I have come over the years to understand that this energy is still, all Reiki: The terms Prana, Chi & Kundalini may very well describe the method of travel of this subtle energy, rather than being a different energy altogether. The only exception is that Kundalini is so amped up that it can even be dangerous when released prematurely. So another difference is that energy can be powerful or weak. This is true even of Reiki Healing. You can be a powerful Reiki Healer or a barely effective one.

“As energy travels different pathways it takes on different characteristics. Just as one man who spends his life climbing mountains will have a different nature than a woman who spent her life sailing the oceans”.

I share this because back when I first got certified as A Reiki one I struggled with a way of understanding how Reiki works. At the time I did not understand the nature of magic so I doubted it. Now I see how magic is no less ’magical’ when there is an explanation for it.

Specific Breathwork Technique to open up or clear the first 3 chakras.

Specific Breathwork Technique to open up or clear the first 3 chakras

Start with the Heart Chakra, then Sacral, then Root, lastly Solar.

Technique: Breathe long slow breaths focusing your awareness on the Chakra being addressed. With each breath imagine that you are breathing “through” the Chakra like it is a portal. With each out-breath imagine anything that wants/needs to be released is being let-go and with each in-breath imagine that healthy vibrant prana is filling the spaces left by the out-going “debris” and charging the Chakra with purity and original vibrancy.

Each out/in-breath bears with it information that may manifest in images, feelings, memories, fragments of thought, notice these but don’t engage them, allow them to inform you of further “places to look” in your meditation practice.
You will know you’re complete with a Chakra when you feel “relief” and a fullness.

Meditation on Twin Hearts

What Happens During The Meditation on Twin Hearts?

Twin Hearts Meditation Audio

When a person practices Meditation on Twin Hearts, divine energy flows down to the practitioner; filling him with Divine Light, Love and Power. The practitioner becomes a channel of this Divine energy.

Spiritual aspirants who have practiced this meditation for quite sometime may experience being enveloped by dazzling, sometimes blinding light. In addition, practitioners may experience divine ecstasy and bliss, and a feeling of oneness with all creation. This has been a common experience among advanced yogis and saints of all religions, and can be verified through their holy scriptures.

This blinding, brilliant, and dazzling light is known as Heaven Ki in Taoist yoga, or the Pillar of Light in ancient Jewish Kaballah traditions. In Judaism it is Shekhinah- The Shekinah is held by some to represent the feminine attributes of the presence of God (shekhinah being a feminine word in Hebrew), based especially on readings of the Talmud. To the Indian yogis and saints, they call this pillar of light, the Antakharana, or spiritual bridge of light. The Christians refer to it as the Descent of the Holy Spirit, symbolized by a pillar of light with a descending white dove. The white dove represents the coming down of divine energy. The descent of the divine energy causes the temporary expansion of the practitioner’s major chakras and inner aura. When meditation is practiced on a regular basis, the expansion may become permanent.

The heart chakra is a replica, or twin of the crown chakra. When you look at the heart chakra, it has twelve petals, similar to the twelve petals which form the inner core of the crown chakra. The crown chakra, on the other hand, is the center of illumination, or divine love, or oneness with all. It is situated on top of a person’s head, providing energy for the brain and the glands therein. When the Crown chakra is sufficiently activated, its inner core of twelve petals unfurl, open and turn upward like a golden cup, golden crown, golden lotus, or golden flower, to receive spiritual energy which is distributed to other parts of the body.

What is Meditation on Twin Hearts?
Meditation on Twin hearts is based on the principle that some of the major energy centers or chakras are entry points or gateways to certain levels or horizons of consciousness. The Twin Hearts pertain to the heart and crown energy centers. The heart chakra is an energy center in front of a person’s chest. It is the energy counterpart to the physical heart. The heart chakra is the center for compassion, joy, affection, consideration, mercy, and other higher refined emotions. The Crown energy center (also called the spiritual heart) located on the top of the head is the entry point to higher spiritual consciousness. To achieve illumination or cosmic consciousness, it is necessary to sufficiently activate the crown chakra. This can be done only when the heart chakra is sufficiently activated. Only by developing the higher refined emotions can one possibly experience divine love. When the crown center is highly developed, one experiences Divine Love and Oneness with All.

Blessing the earth with loving-kindness, peace and goodwill following the Meditation on Twin Hearts can be done by a group as a form of world service. The effectiveness of the blessings is magnified many times more when done as a group rather than as an individual.

Who introduced Meditation on Twin Hearts?

Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, an internationally known spiritual teacher and lecturer, introduced Meditation on Twin Hearts to the public for the first time in the 1980’s. This exceptional meditation is based on an ancient secret only revealed to advanced spiritual aspirants. Grand Master Choa Kok Sui utilized different advanced meditational techniques and synthesized it into one simple yet powerful meditation.

WHO SHOULD NOT PRACTICE THE MEDITATION ON TWIN HEARTS?
1. Persons below 16 years old.
2. Patients with severe heart ailment, hypertension, glaucoma, or kidney and liver problems.
3. Pregnant women.
4. Heavy smokers.
5. Heavy meat eaters (particularly pork).

Steps in Meditation on Twin Hearts

1) Cleansing The Etheric Body Through Physical Exercise
Do physical exercise for about five minutes. Doing physical exercise has a cleansing effect on the etheric body. Light grayish matter or used-up prana is expelled from the etheric body when exercising. Physical exercises have to be done to minimize possible pranic congestion since this meditation generates a lot of subtle energies in the etheric body.

2) Invocation For Divine Blessing
Invoke the Divine Blessings. Hindus pray for Shiva or Krishna or to the Guru, Christians to Jesus or Christ or Mary, Muslims to Allah, and Buddhists to Buddha. If you are eclectic, you may say, “To the Universal Supreme God.”

You can use the following invocation:

“To the Supreme God, I humbly invoke for divine guidance, divine love and illumination, divine oneness, divine bliss, divine help, and divine protection. With thanks and in full faith.”

3) Connecting The Tongue To The Palate
Connecting the tongue to the palate completes the connection between the front and back energy channels of the aura, thus increasing the energy level and facilitating the circulation of energy during the meditation.

4a) Activating The Heart Chakra And Blessing The Entire Earth With Loving Kindness

Press your front heart chakra with your finger for a few seconds. This is to make concentration on the front heart chakra easier. Visualize a small earth, the size of a small ball, directly in front of you. Concentrate on the front heart chakra and bless the earth with loving kindness at the same time visualizing pink light flowing from your heart chakra enveloping the entire earth. You may use the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi. Be aware of your heart and hands as you say silently say the following.
To the Supreme God,
Make me an instrument of your peace.

Feel the inner peace within you. Allow yourself to be a channel of divine peace. Feel the peace within you. Let it flow to your arms, to your hands. Bless the earth with peace. Gently and lovingly share this peace with the small earth in front of you.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love.

Feel the divine love within you. Allow yourself to be a channel of divine love. Feel this love within you. Feel this love flowing from your heart, to your arms, flowing to the small earth in front of you. Bless the earth with peace and with love.

Where there is injury, pardon.

4b) Feel the spirit of reconciliation. Allow yourself to be a channel of divine forgiveness, divine reconciliation. Bless the earth with the spirit of forgiveness, reconciliation, understanding, harmony and peace.
Where there is despair, hope; doubt faith.

Feel the divine hope and faith. Allow yourself to be a channel of divine hope and divine faith. Bless the earth with hope and faith. Bless people who are having a difficult time with hope and faith. Silently tell them, “You can make it.” Bless them with divine hope and divine faith and divine strength.

Where there is darkness, light; sadness, joy.

Allow yourself to be a channel of divine light and joy. Bless the entire earth with divine light and joy. Bless people who are sad, depressed and in pain with divine light and joy. Fill them with light and joy.

5) Activating The Crown Chakra And Blessing The Earth With Loving-Kindness

Press the crown chakra with your finger for several seconds to facilitate concentration on the crown chakra and bless the entire earth with loving-kindness while visualizing divine white light flowing from your crown and enveloping the earth in front of you. When the crown chakra is fully opened, some of you will feel something blooming on top of the head and some will also feel something pressing on the crown. The following blessing may be used:

From the center of the heart of God,
Let the entire earth be blessed with loving-kindness.

Feel the divine love and kindness. Allow yourself to be a channel of divine love and kindness and share these with the whole earth.

Let the entire earth be blessed with great joy and happiness.

Feel the joy and happiness and share these with the entire earth. Visualize people smiling, their hearts filled with joy and happiness.

From the center of the heart of God,
Let the entire earth be blessed with
understanding, harmony, and divine peace.

Allow yourself to be a channel of understanding, harmony and peace. Visualize people or nations that are on the verge of fighting or are fighting reconciling and living in harmony with each other. Visualize people putting down their arms, shaking hands and embracing each other.

Let the entire earth be blessed with
goodwill and the will to do good.

Imagine people not filled with good intentions, not only talking about doing something good, but also actually carrying out these good intentions. This is the meaning of the “will to do good.”

6) Meditate And Bless The Earth With Loving-Kindness Simultaneously Through The Heart And Crown Chakras
After the crown has been activated, concentrate simultaneously on the crown chakra and the heart chakra, and bless the entire earth with loving-kindness for a few minutes. This will align both chakras, thereby making the blessing more potent. Imagine the small earth in front of you. Visualize a golden light from your hands going down to the earth, filling the whole earth with light and love. You may use the following blessing:

From the center of the heart of God,
Let the entire earth, every person, every being
be blessed with divine love and kindness

Feel the divine love and kindness and share these with the whole earth, every person and every being.

Let the entire earth, every person, and every being be blessed
With divine sweetness, divine joy, with warmness,
Caringness and tenderness.

Feel the sweet, loving feeling and share it with the whole earth.

From the center of the heart of God,
Let the entire earth, every person, and every being be blessed
With inner healing, inner beauty,
divine bliss and, divine oneness.

Feel the divine bliss and divine oneness, and share these with every person and every being.

7) Achieve Illumination-Meditation On The Light, On The Mantra OM And The Interval Between The Two OMs

Gently imagine a brilliant white light or golden light on the crown. Look at it gently and lovingly. Feel the quality of the energy emitted by the light. Feel the inner peace, stillness and bliss emanating from the light. Be aware of the light, the inner stillness and the bliss. Gently and silently chant the mantra OM or Amen.

OOOOMMMM…..OOOOMMMM…..OOOOMMMM….
OOOOMMMM…..OOOOMMMM…..OOOOMMMM….
OOOOMMMM…..OOOOMMMM…..OOOOMMMM….

Continue meditating for about 10 minutes. Relax and let go.

8) Releasing Excess Energy By Blessing And By Rooting

After the meditation, raise again both hands with palms facing outward. Imagine the earth. Release the excess energy by blessing earth with light, loving-kindness, peace and prosperity for several minutes until your body has normalized.

After releasing the excess energy, you may bless specific persons or your family and friends.

Next, gently be aware of the base of the spine. Project your consciousness down into the earth and imagine light descending into the earth three meters or 10 feet deep.

9) Giving Thanks
After the end of the meditation, always give thanks to the Divine Providence and to your spiritual guides for the divine blessing.

10) Further Releasing Of Excess Energy Through More Physical Exercises And Massaging
Strengthen the visible physical through massage of different parts of the body and more physical exercises after the end of the meditation for about five minutes. The purpose is to further cleanse and strengthen the visible body since more used-up prana is expelled out of the body. This facilitates the assimilation of the pranic and spiritual energies, thereby enhancing the beauty and health of the practitioner. Massaging and exercising after this meditation also reduces the possibility of pranic congestion or energy getting in certain parts of the body that may lead to illness. You can also gradually cure yourself of some ailments by doing exercises after doing the Meditation on the Twin Hearts.

It is very important to exercise after the meditation; otherwise, the visible body will inevitably be weakened. Although the etheric body will become very bright and strong, the visible physical body will become weak because it will not be able to withstand the leftover energy generated by the meditation in the long run.

Third Eye (Ajna) Chakra

Your third eye is your vision, your dreams. The Sanskrit word for the sixth chakra is “Ajna,” which means “beyond wisdom.”

Location

The sixth chakra is located in between, and just above, the eyes. It is sometimes referred to as the Brow Chakra.

Associations

“The sixth chakra is involved in both the creation and perception of art and in the recognition that what we see has a powerful impact on us,” according to Yoga Journal. “While our two eyes see the material world, our sixth chakra sees beyond the physical. This vision includes clairvoyance, telepathy, intuition, dreaming, imagination and visualization.”

Excessive energy in the Third Eye Chakra can lead to difficulties concentrating, headaches, hallucinations and nightmares. A deficient sixth chakra can result in eye problems and poor memory.

Color

Indigo blue

Healing Techniques

Stimulate the third eye with pressure on the chakra. Forward bends with a bolster can allow you to press and rest your forehead on the bolster, and yoga poses like Child’s Pose (Balasana), where you rest your head on your mat, can help to balance the sixth chakra.

Try closing your eyes during your practice to move your gaze inward and focus on how your body feels in your poses, rather than how your poses look. You can even try wearing a blindfold during your practice to keep your third eye in a calm and balanced state as your body moves.

Your third eye is responsible for dreams, affirmations and visualizations in your life, so fill your mind with insights that are positive and motivating.

Relative Foods

Dark blue fruits and vegetables, such as blueberries, blackberries and eggplant, can help to stimulate the Third Eye Chakra. Red wine and grape juice can also help to awaken your visual center, as well as lavender spice and poppy seed.
