Imbalance in The Sacral or Sex Chakra

Svadhaswara is the seat of sexual desire, pleasure and nurturing. The sacred art of tantra is a sexual art intended to use the energy created during orgasm to propel Kundalini energy up the spine to inspire instant bliss and enlightenment. This practice remains highly misunderstood, and has been used in a number of books and myths to be more about sexual pleasure than spirituality; none-the-less, the ability to give and receive sexual pleasure, or pleasure in general, does have its home in the sacral chakra.

What is so important about being able to experience pleasure and give it to others? Well, for one, it is an act of openness and self-affirmation. For another thing, it is extremely conducive to caring and intimacy. Just think what it would be like to have a partner who never experienced pleasure or allowed you to pleasure them. This would create a huge barrier and imbalance in any relationship.

Unfortunately, this problem is all too common. It stems from a closed sacral, or second chakra, and it can be healed through continued intimacy, counseling, meditation and yoga. Often, this is caused by sexual shame, too much guilt, and a number of unhealthy or unacceptable experiences, during youth or at other times in life.

What if, on the other hand, your partner is detached, selfish, overly intense, manipulative, or, becomes too attached and dependent, and only shows affection in a sexual manner? This is a sign of excess in the sacral chakra, and is just as much an imbalance and barrier to love and nurturing. In both cases, meditations and exercises can bring more balance and harmony to the individual and the relationship, helping us learn how to set normal sexual boundaries, allow our own gratification, and care for others, at the same time.

Boundaries are, as matter of fact, a perfect example of what the sacral chakra is really all about. Our natural boundaries are not meant to be emotional blockades or walls barring us from trust and communion with others. Rather, they are a symbol of emotional well-being, self-love and respect for ourselves and others. When the sacral chakra is blocked or imbalanced, however, we either lack the ability to tell others no, or we overuse the ability to a point of loneliness and isolation.

Those who have a problem in the svadhisthana center commonly act as martyrs; over-giving, denying themselves certain foods, sexual gratification, even compliments and love from others. They can also be very promiscuous and pass over true emotional attachment and connection for the more shallow or temporary satisfaction of sex. They may have many partners, and certainly experience a high number of fast and tumultuous relationships.

The favored color of this energy center is orange and simply working more with it and incorporating it into everyday items or surroundings is an excellent strategy for beginning to heal and balance it. Those who have such issues tend to be fond of the color, or, at least some shades of it. There is no reason to use bright orange, as more muted, electric, or darker shades work just as well.

The seed mantra for svadhisthana is vam and can be chanted or sung during focus on the sex center, during meditation, while holding a hand mudra, or while practicing one of the following Yoga postures:

Triangle: Stand with the legs wider than hip width apart, facing the hips forward and holding the arms straight out to the sides. Draw the muscles of the legs up, bend at the hip to the right, letting the right hand come down on the knee, shin or floor, depending on flexibility. Hold the pose and breath deeply into the stretch in the inner thighs. Chant vam and focus on the sacral chakra. Straighten and then repeat to the left.

Cobra: Lay on the floor with the hands under the shoulders. Straighten the legs out behind you, feet together. Rest the chin on the mat or floor. Using primarily the muscles in the back, lift the head, neck, shoulders and chest off of the floor, using the hands for support only. Keep the pelvis, hips, lower abdomen and legs pressed into the floor. Hold for ten deep breaths, release, rest and repeat.

Lesson Nine ~ Reiki Symbols

Reiki symbols are sacred healing symbols which enhance the flow of Life Force Energy. They are like keys that open doors to higher levels of awareness and manifestation.

Reiki symbols are Sanskrit-derived Japanese forms. Sanskrit is the mother-tongue of all other languages. It is the language of the Vedas, the oldest writings known to man. The Vedas say that Sanskrit is the language of the spirit world.

Reiki symbols are shown to the student prior to being attuned, and an imprinting takes place that links the image they are shown to the metaphysical energies the symbol represents. Then the Reiki attunement actually empowers the symbols so that they fulfill their intended purpose. This process has been created by a Divine covenant or sacred agreement between the Creator and those who have been attuned.

The symbols have their own consciousness, and it is possible to meditate on them and receive guidance on how to use them directly from the symbols themselves.

The three Reiki Symbols for Reiki 1 & 2 certification are…

Cho Ku Rei – This is the Power Symbol. Reiki Energy will flow without it, but when you use it, it is believed that the energy increases significantly. It would be as if you had changed the bulb in a lamp from 50 watts to 500 watts. Use at the beginning of the healing session and at any other time that additional power is needed. It is geared specifically for healing within the physical body. The meaning and translation of the symbol: The power of the Universe, the divine light, is accessible to me, to focus. It is the divine creation symbol.

The manifestation of the light (the divine energy) on earth. The energy frequent, which you produce with the strengthening symbol, is one of the highest spiritual powers, which you can send out. The clear universal divine Power of light and unconditional love. Every energy application will get stronger when using this symbol. During the whole body application, draw in your hand palms, to stronger the energy To balance the chakra in all positions, draw it in your hand palms If you draw it in your hands, it always stronger the place where your hands are laying on. If you feel, there is no energy in your hands, or just less (you can draw the symbol more than once) You can draw the symbol on groups of people, a single person, single body parts or on a road to make travel safer, a bed where a sick person lies or any object.

Draw in your thoughts (you can use your hands also) on the corresponding place, person or action, where you like the energy of the symbol to effect. Draw the sign in one piece without stopping.

Sei He Ki – This symbol is used for mental and emotional healing, protection, purification, clearing and balancing. It works with the cause of the disease, which is often hidden in the subconscious mind (the emotional body) and/or the conscious mind (the mental body). When the body manifests dis-ease, it is often attempting to deliver a message that there is something that  needs tending, that needs attention within the mental or emotional patterns we carry. The mental and emotional healing symbol balances the right and left brain. This symbol: Is especially helpful for healing relationship problems and the issues that stem from them: It’s used for any sort of emotional or mental distress such as nervousness, fear, depression, anger, sadness, etc. It can enhance one’s memory, as it connects with the subconscious mind, where all memories are stored & can be used to enhance the effectiveness of affirmations, causing them to enter more deeply into the subconscious and manifest the results you desire more quickly.

Sei He Ki Is also used to purify food or water, or to clear a room of negative energy, followed by the power symbol. If, during a treatment, a person begins an emotional release, use this symbol to assist in drawing it out and clearing it.

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen – This symbol transmits Reiki energy across time and space often called the distance symbol. Using this symbol you can send Reiki across the room, across town, to other parts of the country or anywhere in the world. Distance is no barrier. You can also use this symbol to bridge time.

You can send Reiki into the “future,” where it will store up like a battery, to access at the time you or others will be needing it. Likewise, you can send Reiki into the “past,” to heal issues from earlier in this lifetime, or to past life issues that affect you or others now.

The essential message of the symbol is “The Buddha in me greets the Buddha in you.” (Another word for Buddha is “The Awakened One or Awakened Heart.”) And so when you use this symbol you are saying “The Awakened Heart in me greets the Awakened Heart in You.”

And when that connection is declared and honored through your hearts, you and the recipient are in a state of Divine Union, and Reiki can be shared regardless of the physical distance between you.

This symbol connects to the Akashic Records, the life records of each soul, and so it can be used to heal karmic patterns or tendencies that have manifested as dis-ease in the body or that have resulted in mental or emotional pain or distress. It can also be used to send Reiki attunement energy to students.

The aura – the subtle body

Quantum physics describes the universe as energy, with energy and matter interchangeable. Psychology, Eastern therapy, and complementary medicine all have terms for life as energy. The aura can be viewed as an energy field surrounding the body, interacting through spiritual and psychological levels via structures called chakras. In other words the aura is an energy field that surrounds the physical body and is discernible to those of psychical sight.

The 7 main chakras have their origin in the physical body but they also exist in all the layers of the aura. The speed and vibration level of the energy is increased with each level. One can say that the human consciousness is manifested on 7 levels or in the 7 layers that is the aura.

How Reiki affects the aura
Before a Reiki attunement a persons aura might normally only extend a few decimeters outside the persons body. The attunement strengthens the aura and gives a permanent aura of about 2 -3 meters. At the same time the consciousness, the inner strength and the ability to intuitively see what needs to be changed in order to achieve maximum health is increased. Through the Reiki attunement and the strengthening of the aura you get the tool to take control over your life and development.

During a Reiki treatment not only the organs and the energy flow within the body are affect but also the different bodies of the aura are affected. When using distance healing or the mental/emotional symbol the aura seems to be more affected than the actual organs in the body.

The different layers/bodies in the aura

The Physical body, is the most tangible manifestation of our consciousness. Its function is to be here and now, to be conscious of what we do: walking when walking, eating when eating etc. We all know the fears of the physical body – sickness, aging and death.

The Etheric body, is a thin invisible layer, approx. 2 cm thick, around the physical body. This is where the energy is reflected when it flows through meridians and chakras. The etheric body or double acts as a template for the physical body and appears as an energy matrix. It is described in Chinese medicine as meridians that transmit chi (ki) through the body. Consciousness is expressed in terms of sensations like physical pleasure or pain.
Many of our dreams can be found in the etheric body. With the aid of mantras, symbols, essence etc. one can affect the function of this part of the aura. Connected to the Root chakra.

The third body is the Emotional body. The emotional body is egg shaped and contains the other 2. This body reflects the feelings and emotions we have. Emotions like happiness, hope, love, anger, sorrow, hate are all found here. The emotional body is also connected to our past which can cause problems. The body is laced with wishes and desires from the past and this can cause tensions. It is important to learn how to handle different emotions during a day, the risk is otherwise that they become suppressed and stored in the emotional body and can later be the cause of blockages and disturbances leading to medical problems. Connected to the Navel chakra.

The Mental body’s function is to teach us self knowledge. The mental body as it’s name implies reflects the conscious mind, logic, intellect and active thinking.
We shape our reality with our minds. Our mind is the constructor, the builder. It reflects our ability through which we develop our learning and personality. Mental heath or mental illness is reflected in this level. Connected to the Solar Plexus Chakra.

The Astral body.  Unconditional love. Connected to the Heart chakra. The astral aura is the bridge between the physical world and the spiritual realm.

The Etheric Template body (divine will) can be identified with memory and our thought processes. Here all our memories, forgotten, remembered or pushed away, are mirrored. The Etheric Template also stores the present and all the possible futures. Connected to the Throat chakra.

The Celestial body mirrors the subconscious mind that is a part of the inactive part of our brain. By listening to your subconscious, your intuition, you can make your journey through life more simple and rewarding. Consciousness expresses itself as higher feelings like universal love; love that goes beyond human beings and friends into a universal love for all life. Connected to the Third eye chakra.

The Causal body (Ketheric Template) is the last body. The energies in this body spins with a very high frequency. This is where the soul communicates with the conscious mind via the subconscious mind in the mental body.Consciousness is expressed in higher concepts of knowing or belief systems. This is where the initial creative impulse begins; not just linear knowing, but integrated knowing. Connected to the Crown chakra.

Cho Ku Rei ~ This is the Power Symbol

Reiki Energy will flow without it, but when you use it, it is believed that the energy increases significantly. It would be as if you had changed the bulb in a lamp from 50 watts to 500 watts. Use at the beginning of the healing session and at any other time that additional power is needed. It is geared specifically for healing within the physical body.

The meaning and translation of the symbol: The power of the Universe, the divine light, is assessable to me, to focus. It is the divine creation symbol: The manifestation of the light (the divine energy) on earth. The energy frequent, which you produce with the strengthening symbol, is one of the highest spiritual powers, which you can send out: The clear universal divine Power of light and unconditional love.

Every energy application will get stronger when using this symbol. For this meditation, sit at your computer, or if you downloaded the music, listen to it on your MP3 player or iphone anywhere you like, (Not while driving). If at your computer sit straight & start by drawing this symbol on a piece of clean white paper in front of you, you can later 3 hole punch it for your binder. Then close your eyes & listen to the music, breath in through your nose & out through your mouth if possible. Imagine the symbol, let it float through your mind; ask it to become one with you. Often, the symbol morphs & changes, let this happen: Picture it from different angles, if it were an animal what would it be, if it were a part of nature how would it appear to you.

What If We Told Our Little Girls This?

What if we told our little girls this?

It’s ok to touch yourself
Anywhere
Whenever
If you want to
If it makes you feel good
If you get wet that’s okay
If you don’t that’s okay too
Just wash your hands before
Just like you do before you eat
Prepare
Treat your body like a temple
Every time you do anything with your body it is sacred
When you are older enjoy your body as much as you can
Feeling good is ok
Share your body whenever you want to
When you don’t feel like sharing, that’s ok too
There will be times when you don’t feel like loving your own body
There will be times when you want to love yourself several times a day
If you share your intimate moments with others they may feel closer to you
Or they may not
Not everyone learns what I am teaching you
But my concern is you
The most important thing is to love yourself
When you love yourself so much you will reach a point
That you don’t need anyone else
You will feel that full and that complete
Then you will overflow
Then you can’t do anything but share your love
It will exude from your very pores
People will tell you they feel something special about your energy
Your ego will like hearing it
But your heart will be so full of love that your ego will shrink
You will begin to see love everywhere
You will begin to see love in all things
So far no one has found a limit on how much love there is
When your physical body is ready to die
Your love lives on
Your special energy to be shared for eternity
So when you touch yourself remember
It’s perfectly ok.

Perfect/Imperfect You

The human you is imperfect but the true you, the eternal you, your spiritual self, is whole and perfect. It is your soul, your consciousness, that desires healing and a stronger connection to your Spiritual or God self. Many of us have allowed our egos or lower selves to take over pushing our souls, that part of ourselves that is always connected to the God self, out of the way. Although we have never been separated from our God self, many of us have chosen to believe in the concept of God being outside of ourselves. This is an egoic belief! Unfortunately, this belief creates energetic blocks and barriers between our physical and spiritual selves creating the illusion that we are separated from God and each other. When we believe we are separate from God, the flow of spiritual energy and wisdom from our God selves diminishes to a small trickle barely keeping us alive. A limited flow of spiritual energy depletes the soul leading to poor health, distorted beliefs, confusion, depression, powerlessness, shame, anger and negative choices that are out of alignment with our higher wisdom. The soul is always trying to get our attention by communicating to us through feelings and oftentimes through pain in the physical body. The chaos on our planet is the effect of the mass consciousness choosing to unplug themselves from the higher wisdom of their God selves. We have allowed our egos and lower selves to make decisions for us leading all of us into a downward spiral of self-destruction. ♥ Sabrina (How To Raise Your Vibration)

Sensual Bliss Voyager ~ The Definition

Sen·su·al

2.  voluptuous: suggesting a great deal of physical or, especially, sexual pleasure

“sensual lips”

3.  sensory: relating to the body or the senses as opposed to the mind or the intellect

[ 15th century. < late Latin sensualis “equipped with feeling or sensation” < Latin sensus(see sense) ]

sen·su·al·ly ADVERB

sen·su·al·ness NOUN

Word Usage

sensual or sensuous Both words are connected with gratification of the human senses. Sensual is the older word, and in the 17th century it developed special meanings associated with the bodily appetites, especially eating and above all sexual satisfaction: Her mouth looked sensual and inviting. They enjoyed the sensual pleasures of the table. About this time the poet John Milton seems to have invented the word sensuous to refer more specifically to the aesthetic and spiritual senses (seeing, hearing, thinking), and it was taken up by Samuel Taylor Coleridge in the 19th century. In current use, it is almost impossible to keep the two sets of meanings apart, since the senses cannot readily be compartmentalized in this way, but it is prudent to have regard for the main distinction when using these words. Sensuous, for example, is the word to use in connection with music or poetry: The conductor relished the sensuous parts of Ravel’s score.
